Before, the Enterprise Edition was available mainly to larger companies after they forked over a huge upfront payment and signed a commitment that lasted several years. Microsoft will make its Enterprise Edition available to small businesses through its Cloud Solution Provider Program. Speaking at the recent Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate VP for Windows and Devices Group, said, “For the price of a cup of coffee and a donut per day, small business owners can enjoy enterprise-class security on a per-user subscription basis.”

Microsoft’s announcement about the Enterprise Edition offering represents the first time small businesses will have the ability to access such a powerful and secure system via a monthly subscription.
